Event Description:

Winter or summer, we are always happy to be back at one our favorite venues, Mt. Abram. Join us on Saturday, March 10th for the Mt. Abram Packed Powder Fest.

In one of our last events of the season, we offer up a mix of race activity including a 5km snowshoe/snowrun, a Ski Mountaineering Race, and a 5km Fat Tire Mountain Bike Race. The snowshoe, snowrun, and fat tire races will all share the same 5km course (though run at different times).

Baxter Outdoors is proud to partner with TruStrength Athletics for the Ski Mountaineering portion of this event. Ski mo racers may choose from a single lap course (approx 1000' vert), a 3-lap course (approx 3000' vert) and a 5-lap course (approx 5000' vert). The 5-lap course includes boot pack sections and requires racers to have a system for carrying skis on their back during these segments. Ski mo will be open to all telemark, Randonee/AT, and split boarders.

All courses will start and finish from the Mt. Abram base lodge with awards to take place afterwards. Stick around after your race for a free Baxter Beer.

*Sign up individually for each event. In the 5km snowshoe/snowrun, racers may choose to snowshoe or run depending on the conditions and whichever they think may be faster. Snowshoers and snowrunners will compete in the same race catergory.

This course is designed for intermediate and expert atheletes alike. All courses include significant vertical in easy to follow groomed routes. Those looking for a podium finish will be challenged by this course's elevation change.

Mountain biking on snow?

That's right! If you are an avid MTB'er, you already know that fat tire bikes are the new preferred winter mode of travel. For those who have never heard of the term, google "fat tire bikes" and prepare for your mind to be blown.

Can I get a refund?

Similar to other live events (concerts, sporting events, etc), all sales are final. If you will not be able to make your race, you are more than welcome to give your ticket to a friend or family member. Please contact our office with any issues or questions.

Can kids participate in this event?

All ages are welcome to attend this event. Depending on the venue, age restrcitions may apply on the Baxter Brewing Co after party. Please see the event details tab for information on the afterparty and any applicable age restrictions.
