Event Description

Winter or summer, we are always happy to be back at one our favorite venues, Mt. Abram. Join us on Saturday, March 13th for the Mt. Abram Uphill SkiMo Classic presented by TruStrength Athletics.

There will be two fun skimo options this year: a single lap and a 3-lap option. Within both options there will be a ‘skimo’ division and a ‘heavy metal’ division. Heavy metal division will be for any skis (or snowboards) wider than 85mm under foot.

For the 1-lap option, racers will choose between a two routes that include short boot packs (see map link). It will be up to racers to strategize which loop will make them faster! You won’t be able to see if someone is beating you on the other side of the mountain so keep the pedal down! All racers have the same summit transition area and descend the same route.

3-lap racers will all start the same as the 1 lap group. Racers will choose the right or left loop, then everyone will complete lap two straight up under the chairlift with two bootpacks including climbing what locals call “The Cliff.” Whomever is in the lead going into lap 3 will then choose which lap they want for the 3rd. All consecutive racers will be forced to alternate direction of lap 3.

ex. If racer 1 selects the left hand loop, racer 2 must ascend the right side loop, racer 3 must do the left side loop, etc.

All racers must have a pack or means of attaching skis to their body. This is for safety of all. If you do not have a pack please email us at trustrengthathletics@gmail.com and we will try to arrange a pack you can borrow.

Stick around after your race for a post-race Baxter Beer in the Loose Boots Lounge and around the fire pit outside!

This event will follow all Covid-19 state mandates including face masks required at all times when around other people. Please maintain social distancing whenever possible. Capacity will be limited to 50 people.

We thank our corporate sponsor for donating $1 for each mile covered in this race, to our featured beneficiary.
