5km Fat Tire (solo)
We continue our winter race season with a trip up to Vermont's Northeast Kingdom and the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. This four-season Olympic training ground will play host for the day as we run, ski, and bike our way through the Craftsbury Outdor Center.
Racers may choose from either a solo 5km snow run, a solo 15km triathlon, a team 15km triathlon (3x5km) or a solo 5km fat tire race. The triathlon will include a 5km snowrun, 5km fat tire, and 5km nordic (freestyle) ski, in that order. Transitions between legs will all take place at the start/finish line.
The course will take place on a mixture of groomed nordic ski trails and single track fat tire bike trails that weave throughout Craftsbury's 400 acre property. The course is intended for all abilities.
Come join us at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center on Saturday, January 20th for a great race at a classic Vermont venue!

This course is designed for beginner, intermediate and expert atheletes alike. The course has its fair share of ups and downs but its professional grooming and course signage make it easy to navigate. Those looking to walk will discover a beautiful course while those looking for a podium finish will be challenged by this course's consistent but subtle elevation change.
This race is a freestyle race meaning that you may either classic or skate ski. Those looking for faster times and a podium place should consider skate skiing.
That's right! If you are an avid MTB'er, you already know that fat tire bikes are the new preferred winter mode of travel. For those who have never heard of the term, google "fat tire bikes" and prepare for your mind to be blown.
