Baxter Outdoors is returning this September for the 5th Annual Northern Outdoors 10k Trail Run and the sixth stop on the 2018 New England Trail Run Series
As racers learned last year, this is a beautiful course that packs a punch with consistent but modest elevation changes. The trail weaves throughout the woods of the Kennebec River Valley, at times dipping down to the banks of the Kennebec River. Footing alters between double track hiking trail and gravel ATV trail. Last year we had at least one racer see a moose!
The 6-mile point-to-point begins at "the ballfield" in The Forks and continues south along the FAST Trail (Forks Area Scenic Trail) ending at the Northern Outdoors Lodge. Shuttle transportation to the start of the one-way course will be provided by Northern Outdoors.
We encourage you to stick around aprés at the Lodge to enjoy some Baxter Beer and Northern Outdoors' own Kennebec River Brewing Co. Beer

While racers of all ability levels are encouraged to participate, this course will favor intermediate and expert runners. Though the net elvaition of this course is minimal, the trail contains numerous rolling sections as it follows the contour lines of the hills carved by the Kennebec River. The first mile of the trail takes pace on gravel ATV trails and at times encounters sections of widespread rocks. The rest of course is typical of a single track hiking trail, with occasional roots, rocks and mud. Racers looking to walk will enjoy beautiful scenery and easy hiking terrain.
Similar to other live events (concerts, sporting events, etc), all sales are final. If you will not be able to make your race, you are more than welcome to give your ticket to a friend or family member. Please contact our office with any issues or questions.
All ages are welcome to attend this event. Depending on the venue, age restrcitions may apply on the Baxter Brewing Co after party. Please see the event details tab for information on the afterparty and any applicable age restrictions.
